This book has been one of our favorites around the house for years. I end up having to sing the book over and over again. I remember singing it as a child myself! I don't sing the "perhaps she'll die" though-we sing "oh me, oh my". After she swallows a horse, she is full of course:) When I saw this on Pinterest I just had to make it! The girls have so much fun singing the song with something other than our big book. I saw the idea pinned from
here. Once we started making it, I couldn't stop! I was also glad to get to use some of the felt that I have had forever!

L singing the story! |

We went through the house to find the things that the old woman eats. Thankfully we were able to find everything we needed. |
|
Ha! Here she is! I had this trash can in a closet and we decorated her with pieces of felt. The arms are pipe cleaners. I applied everything using a glue gun. |
We also made a story game using printouts that I got from
here.

We colored the the cut outs. It is hard to see but the old lady is covered with contact paper. I then taped an overhead transparency to her belly. Then I taped it to a large envelope (with a cut out circle). The girls can feed her and you can see what is in her belly. |
Well done, Becca! I'm really impressed. Long live Pinterest!
