Christmas Tree fun

I saw something similar to this project on Pinterest.  If you are not on it, I highly recommend it.  It is sooooo addicting.  We did a kid version so it isn't quite as fancy as the ones that I saw online-sorry, I don't remember where exactly.  I bought the styrofoam cones at Joanne Fabric.  We used glue sticks to cover the cone and then wrapped green yarn around the cone.  Truth be told, Sophia quit literally after 1 wrap and Lila got maybe 10 wraps before she asked me to finish that part for her.  She can be such a perfectionist-no idea where that comes from:)-and she got really frustrated.  Plus, they both hated having sticky hands.  Once the trees were wrapped, the fun began.  Both girls pinned sequins to the trees for close to an hour.  It was heaven to hear silence!  I bought sewing pins and both girls were able to use the balls on the end to hold the pins.  Lila was able to thread the sequins into the pin but Sophia just used the pins by themselves.  They were both proud to add to the Christmas decorations in the house.  Here are some pictures:
